Travel Nevada unveils Discover Your Nevada social media campaign

Travel Nevada’s Discover Your Nevada campaign encourages Nevada families to take part in Nevada road trips to discover parts of the state to which they haven’t been. The social media component of Discover Your Nevada is ramping up, with one of Travel Nevada’s 10 signature road trips featured each week throughout the summer.

The three newest itineraries are the Lake Tahoe Loop (Reno to Lake Tahoe, through Carson Valley, Carson City and Virginia City); Cowboy Corridor (Interstate 80, Reno to West Wendover); and Neon to Nature (Including Boulder City, Laughlin, and Mesquite). The social media campaign will promote the routes themselves along with specific points of interest to get Nevadans interested in taking a road trip and to visit DiscoverYourNevada.com.

Partners can help raise awareness of the routes and points of interest in their areas of the state by encouraging travelers to use the hashtag #DiscoverNV when sharing images on social media.

The Discover Your Nevada campaign also has a school component: Travel Nevada has partnered with the Nevada Department of Education for a second year to run a statewide student essay contest. Winner Nadia Hill, from Eagle Valley Middle School in Carson City, was announced in May. The contest prize is a field trip throughout the state; Nadia and her family plan to visit Tonopah, Rhyolite ghost town, the Neon Museum in Las Vegas and Great Basin National Park in July.
